Chips, Dips, and all the Super Bowl Snacks You’ll Need

Picture this: you’re all gathered around a table filled with dishes of warm dips, chips and finger-food snacks. The whistles and cheering fans roar from the TV. There’s little bits of popcorn on the carpet and your friends are all digging into your homemade buffalo chicken dip (and probably asking for the recipe).

What’s better for a game-watching party than a variety of yummy appetizers to snack on all day long? Let’s take a look at the BEST dips for this Super Bowl Sunday.

Taco Dip

I loooooove “Mexican” food, (in quotations because it’s really an Americanized cuisine), whether it’s guacamole and chips, salsa, nachos, ground beef or anything with a little spice.

Taco dips are usually layered with cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, refried beans and sometimes a meat, such as ground beef with taco seasoning. There’s no right or wrong way to layer this dish. Check out a recipe here.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

My all time favorite dip is buffalo chicken dip. I love to dig in with toasted baguette slices. It’s also delicious with Ritz crackers or Tostitos Scoops!

My mom makes the best version, I will admit, but it’s such a simple and easy recipe. Frank’s Red Hot has their own recipe if you like their hot sauce – except we adopt their recipe and use Frank’s Buffalo hot sauce instead of the original sauce, plus omit the blue cheese crumbles. To each their own.

Spinach Artichoke Dip

This is a party classic as well. Most recipes you’ll find online are roughly the same, but here’s a decent one from Natasha’s Kitchen. If you’ve never had a spinach artichoke dip, it’s creamy, cheesy and rich.

Cowboy Dip

Maybe you’re asking, what’s a cowboy dip???

It’s basically a chicken, bacon & ranch dip but without the chicken. That’s a good idea though – someone try adding chicken and let me know how amazing it is. One recipe is found here. (This recipe omits the ranch but has corn in it! There are numerous versions of this famous dip.)

Hot Shrimp Dip

If you want to switch up from the usual buffalo chicken dip, try this spicy shrimp dip! This recipe from Natasha’s Kitchen shows a fairly simple recipe for shrimp dip that is even tastier on toasted baguette slices.

Guacamole Dip

Avocados are one of my favorite foods! You can’t go wrong with homemade guacamole. Grab an onion, some garlic, spices, Tostitos chips and a bunch of avocados… and get to it!

Check out AllRecipes for a couple different recipes for homemade guac.

BLT Dip

These can be made baked or cold, and both are delicious. Baked BLT dip is great on toasted baguette slices and cold dip can be scooped up with tortilla chips. If you’re looking to warm your home with a baked dish, check out Southern Living’s recipe here, or head over to Shugary Sweets here.

Fiery Feta Dip

This 4-ingredient recipe I just found uses red pepper flakes to spice up this dish. Feta is one of my favorite cheeses, whether it’s with a balsamic glaze or something’ spicy like this one. This fiery feta dip tastes phenomenal on pita bread. Check it out here.

Spicy Queso Dip

Can you tell by now how much I love cheese? This recipe makes a delicious queso dip with just a little bit more complexity than other recipes may have (but has so much flavor, so it’s worth it!).

Simple queso dips can also be made with just 3 ingredients: milk, cheese and jalapeños.

Confetti (Cake Batter) Dip

Ready for dessert yet? This sweet dessert dip is a crowd pleaser for sure. Fill your dip with rainbow sprinkles and serve with animal crackers, pretzels or anything else you want!

What Will You Make?

Pick a favorite dip that’s just calling your name, and ask your friends to bring another. Dig in, enjoy your Sunday, and good luck to all super fans out there!

Yours Truly,

Cat Taylor
